GEOFF RASMUSSEN

Geoff is a co-founder and Managing Director of Azure Capital.  He is also the Chairman of the Azure Foundation which supports a number of West Australian and national not-for-profit organisations.  In 2011, Geoff was voted one of Australia’s 20 Best Investment Bankers in the East Coles corporate survey.  Previously, Geoff was also a founding director of Poynton and Partners and GEM Consulting, where he worked in both management consulting and corporate advisory roles.  Geoff has focused on clients in the resources industry, working on mergers, acquisitions, debt and equity financing, strategy, operations and governance.  Geoff has had detailed experience in oil & gas, gold, iron ore, aluminium, nickel, copper, zinc, uranium, manganese, molybdenum, and mineral sands.  He has also acted for several clients involved in mining and hydrocarbon service sectors.

Prior to that, Geoff started his career as a management consultant with McKinsey and Company.  Geoff is Non-Executive Chairman of Youth Focus, a Perth based NGO providing services to young people at risk of suicide or self-harm.  Geoff studied Business Information Technology at the University of New South Wales.  He graduated with first class Honours and the University Medal.
